15 July 2020 – The Institute for Defense Science & Technology Research (STRIDE) visited the FRIM Product Certification Service (PCS) to share of FRIM PCS experience as a Product Certification Body. STRIDE also intends to be the Product Certification Body for national defense products and has selected FRIM PCS as the first certification body to visit.
The STRIDE team of seven officers lead by Dr. Mahdi bin Che Isa (Director of Maritime Technology Division, Ms. Wan Fadilah binti Wan Abdullah (Head of Optical Technology Branch) and other research officers. Mr. Hashim bin W. Samsi as Head of Product Certification Empowerment Program gave a briefing on the chronology of the establishment of FRIM PCS and the things that need to be emphasized to become a certification body.
Also present was Dr. Sharmiza binti Adnan (Managing Director of FRIM PCS), Pn. Nor Haliyan binti Tan Shilan (Certification & IT Systems Manager), Pn. Suhana Rafidah binti Md. Yusof (Operations & Training Manager), Pn. Nurfarahin binti Mohd Sani and En. Khairul bin Masseat (Research Officer).
