31 January 2024 FRIM received a visit from the Malaysian Ministry of Finance (MOF)  to discuss FRIM’s role as a regulator under the existing furniture Kontrak Panel Berpusat (KPB). This visit session was also attended by the Malaysian Treasury (PM) Sabah & Sarawak as an exposure regarding the implementation of the Furniture KPB in Peninsular Malaysia.


This group of 15 participants was led by YBhg. Dato’ Indera Ab Rahim bin Ab Rahman, Divisional Secretary, Government Procurement Division. Also joining the delegation were Mr. Fakhrunrozi bin Jamaludin, Deputy Secretary of the Government Procurement Division, Mrs. Hazliza Hassan, Head of the Central Contracts and Panel System Section, Mr. Leonard Wilfred Yussin, Financial Officer of the Sarawak Malaysian Treasury and Dr. Sakka bin Nordin Financial Officer of the Sabah Malaysian Treasury.

Welcomed by YBrs. Encik Mahmudin bin Saleh, Deputy Director General (Operations). Encik Hashim W. Samsi, Head of the Wood Product Quality Program, gave a briefing on FRIM’s role as a regulator of the procurement of work furniture under the KPB. Also present Dr. Sharmiza Adnan, Managing Director of FRIM PCS; Nor Haliyan Tan Shilan, FRIM PCS Certification Manager; Muhammad Azidan Zakaria, Head of Product Design Unit; Noor Azrieda Abd Rashid, Head of Raw Materials Chain Unit; Yanti Abd Kadir, Technical and Industrial Unit; officers of the Wood Product Quality Program and FRIM PCS. Next, the delegation was taken to the FRIM Furniture Testing Laboratory and the Forest Skywalk.
