FRIM VISITED BY DEPUTY MINISTER OF FINANCE II
June 26, 2020 – FRIM received a visit from the Ministry of Finance Malaysia led by YB Mohd Shahar Abdullah, Deputy Minister of Finance II yesterday.
Mohd Shahar accompanied by Dato ‘Mohd Zafir Ibrahim, Deputy Secretary of the Government Procurement Division (Contract Sector); Hariz Zakwan, Special Duties Officer and Mrs. Noraziah Abdul Halim, Assistant Secretary of Government Procurement, were greeted by Dr Khali Aziz Hamzah, Deputy Director General (Operations) and FRIM officers.
This visit to discuss some issues related to the furniture industry of bumiputera as well as get confirmation of information related to the furniture certification program implemented by FRIM.
Hashim W. Samsi, Head of FRIM Certification Empowerment Program gave a briefing on FRIM furniture certification program.
Mohd Shahar thanked FRIM for the briefing and explanation given. According to him: “The Malaysian Furniture Industry Empowerment Program should be one of the important agendas so that Malaysian Bumiputera Furniture can compete in the global market.”
Also present, Dr Sharmiza Adnan, Managing Director of Product Certification Services (FRIM PCS); Khairul Masseat, Research Officer; Suhana Rafidah Md Yusof, FRIM PCS Operations and Training Manager; Siti Zaliha Ali, Head of Furniture Test Laboratory and Maria Arlene Jackan, FRIM Public Relations Officer.
