8 JUNE 2022 – FRIM PCS SUCCESSFULLY PASSED THE ISO/IEC 17065 SURVEILLANCE AUDIT FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF STANDARDS MALAYSIA AND RETAINED FRIM AS A PRODUCT CERTIFICATION BODY
FRIM PCS has completed a surveillance audit for the Product Certification Body Accreditation Scheme from the Malaysian Standards Department (Standards Malaysia) on 8 to 9 June 2022. This surveillance audit was carried out based on the requirements of the ISO/IEC 17065:2012 standard, IAF MD 2,4,12 , 15, procedures and policies set by Malaysian Standards. Two Malaysian Standards auditors Tn. Haji Basori bin Selamat and Puan Sharifah Aishah binti Syed Abdullah completed the assessment on both days. The scope of accreditation is furniture for educational institutions, offices, domestic, non-domestic and kitchen cabinets.
There are several findings proposed by the auditor for improvement actions on the product certification system practiced by FRIM PCS. The auditor also recommended that FRIM’s accreditation as a Product Certification Body be continued with the condition that the findings given are acted upon within the specified period. This is the eighth year that FRIM has successfully maintained its status as a Product Certification Body recognized by Standards Malaysia since it was accredited on 12 December 2014.
